UCL Chinese Students and Scholars Association

Non-profit Organizations

Overview

University College London Union- Chinese Students and Scholars Association (UCLU-CSSA) is a non-profit organisation registered at UCL Union that officially represents the UCL Chinese overseas student body. As the largest Chinese society at UCL, we have received continual support from the university itself as well as the wider Chinese community based in the UK, most notably from the UK Chinese Embassy. Since establishment, we have always endeavoured to uphold our principle of providing benefits for Chinese students and scholars in UCL. We have always strived for a promotion of both Chinese and British cultures, further maintaining the cohesion within the overseas student body. Activities organised by us include academic lectures and workshops; career guidance and support; cultural and sports events, alongside short trips. Additionally, we also convenes orientation meetings for freshers every August at various locations in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Chengdu. The meeting effectively uses the platform of CSSA to share important information regarding university life, ultimately forming a strong bond between the students, the society and university. In simpler words, CSSA is a family away from home. Everything we do—the activities organised, the benefits secured, the information supplied and the overall support we offered are all to serve your interests. This ethos has been, and will continue to be our fundamental aspiration for all divisions within the CSSA. Extracurricular and curricular alike, fulfilling your needs as much as possible will always be our priority at UCLU-CSSA.
