Overview

UC Students for Transparency is a grassroots student organization across the University of California school system calling for accountability and transparency in our student government, administration, & campus leaders. We advocate for transparency for all stakeholders of the UC system. We provide a voice for those who are being ignored by the institution and system. UC Students for Transparency prides itself in using social media to create awareness and as a form of activism. In less than six months, we grew our first Instagram account from zero to nearly 5,000 followers, branched out to our second UC school, and created an additional campaign that gained nearly just as many followers. Our goal is to create awareness of an issue and transform the awareness into action by contacting & lobbying people who have the power to create change within the UC system. We are a group of over 70 students from different backgrounds, experiences, and years divided into five different teams: Student Affairs, Creative Team, Social Media, Outreach, Diversity & Inclusion. As students, we have a lot of power, but it is important to contact important channels in an organized manner. If there is an issue that interests you, investigating, calling for action, or accountability, UC Students for Transparency is here to stand behind and with you. Currently operating at UC Santa Barbara and UC Riverside, we are eager to create a greater community and connection between the other UC campuses because if we are connected, the amount of power we have to create change is incredible.
