Trung tâm Trọng tài Quốc tế Việt Nam bên cạnh Phòng Thương mại và Công nghiệp Việt Nam (VIAC) được thành lập trên cơ sở hợp nhất Hội đồng Trọng tài Ngoại thương và Hội đồng Trọng tài Hàng hải. VIAC là tổ chức độc lập, hoạt động không vì mục tiêu lợi nhuận. Mục tiêu của VIAC là thúc đẩy sự phát triển của phương thức giải quyết tranh chấp bằng trọng tài hoặc các phương thức giải quyết tranh chấp thương mại khác theo quy định của pháp luật. VIAC mong muốn tạo ra cơ chế giải quyết tranh chấp khách quan, công bằng, thuận lợi, hiệu quả và đáng tin cậy. VIAC được đánh giá là một tổ chức trọng tài có uy tín của Việt Nam, được cộng đồng doanh nghiệp Việt Nam và nước ngoài tín nhiệm và lựa chọn để giải quyết tranh chấp. Vietnam International Arbitration Centre at the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VIAC) was established on the basic of merging the Foreign Trade Arbitration Committee and the Marine Arbitration Committee. VIAC is an independent and non-profit organization. The objective of VIAC is to promote the dispute resolution method of arbitration or alternative dispute resolutions (ADR).
