Overview

The aim of the project is to create a nested prospective cohort of adolescents born with esophageal atresia (EA) including esophageal and blood samples biobanking in order to assess the long-term health outcome of this rare disease and multi-omics profiles. Since long term outcome is poorly known and there are potential severe complications at the long term (i.e. eosinophilic esophagitis and esophageal cancer), it is of great importance to create a nested prospective cohort from the national register to get information on health outcomes including symptoms, complications, quality of life and patient related outcome at adolescence as well as multi-omic profiles to identify variables networks, first step toward prediction of future health problem.
