Overview

The Envirolock "Smart" Pipeline Leak Management System protects the environment from leaks in pipelines in high consequence areas. By forcing leaks to remain inside the containment system that encompasses the pipeline, there's no impact on the environment. Pipelines operate at high pressure which makes leaks difficult to control and is why leaks can spread so quickly. The Envirolock System is more than a match for those leaks, is able to withstand the initial impact from a direct hit of more than 2000 PSI while simultaneously improving leak detection! By creating a secure, dry environment around the pipeline, powered sensors can be utilized for a variety of purposes such as leak detection, seismic, moisture content of the soil, detecting unauthorized attempts at gaining access (hot tapping or destruction) and perhaps even flow measurements. To be able to monitor the pipeline 24/7 from the trench, especially in sensitive areas, operators can react in a much more informed manner, all while the leak is being contained and not coming into contact with rivers, lakes and streams. The Envirolock Pipeline Leak Management System provides a long term, effective and responsible (ESG) solution to leaks in pipelines. The Envirolock System provides an impenetrable physical barrier that protects pipelines from corrosion causing moisture, EMF interference from power lines, accidental strikes from equipment and other, more nefarious means of disruption buried pipelines. The Envirolock System does not interfere with pigging or inspection and requires maintenance only after an incident has occurred. Cleaning up after a leak is as easy as excavating the system, using a hydro-vac to remove the contaminated soil from within the containment system, repair the pipe, replace backfill and close the system back up!
