Toastmasters District 52

Overview

In the year of the Covid-19 pandemic, and beyond, District 52 has furthered the goals of over 1700 members in achieving communication and leadership skills. Toastmasters District 52 has built and supported Toastmaster clubs for the San Fernando Valley, the Calabasas corridor up to Westlake Village, Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Downtown Los Angeles including Los Feliz, Silverlake, Echo Park, and the Santa Clarita Valley. The parent organization that defines the roles and responsibilities for the District is Toastmasters International. They have an education program that provides a self-paced path in 11 different areas of expertise. Our District's mission is “We build new clubs and support all clubs in achieving excellence.” Our members are our greatest achievement; growing personally and professionally beyond expectations. The district is made up of approximately 100 independent, privately run Toastmaster Clubs. Anyone can join a Toastmaster Club. Clubs are generally 20 to 40 members and can be either a closed company, specialty club or a club open to all. The district is managed by a strictly volunteer team led by three annually elected positions, District Director, Program Quality Director, and Club Growth Director. Each year the district sponsors club officer training, district public speaking contests, and an annual conference. The conference includes the District speech finals, educational opportunities for members, and a business meeting.
