Overview
Threads Worldwide is creating life-changing work for women around the world through the fair trade of artisan jewelry. We partner with dozens of artisan cooperatives in developing countries, providing women the opportunity to learn a skill, jewelry making, and earn a sustainable income. Many of the artisan women that we partner with are survivors of trafficking, HIV positive, hearing impaired, or otherwise are struggling to make ends meet because of social, economic and other hardships. Many of the cooperatives also have additional education, healthcare, childcare, and personal growth programing to help improve the daily lives of the women and their families. We provide women in the developing world an opportunity to thrive not just survive. Our program of work in the US is also unique in that we provide women here in the states the opportunity to become social entrepreneurs - we have a direct sales model wherein our Threads Fair Trade Partners sell the hand-crafted artisan jewelry in various marketplaces and at at in-home Artisan Showcases, increasing the demand of the jewelry, making an income, and showing the world how to shop with heart. Help us grow the Threads Movement by hosting an Artisan Showcase or becoming a Fair Trade Partner!
