The Culture Kitaab (translation: The Culture Book) is a student-run project dedicated to our love for India and its vast cultural richness. We seek to create a compendium on information pertaining to the cultural fabric of India—from mythology to history, setbacks to breakthroughs, arts to sciences, cities to villages, and so on. Although a dynamic concept, culture is often deemed to be static, and even ancient. This is a gap we seek to bridge. India is a vibrant product of its dramatic past, with unfathomable diversity and nuance. The things that form the cornerstone of this nation are things we, ironically enough, know the least about. With TCK, we want to map the roots of our heritage, not just to educate others but also ourselves. After all, culture perforates almost every facet of living, like innovation, policy, and day-to-day life. We hope that, with this project, we can facilitate intra and inter-cultural communication, foster cultural appreciation and regard, and more than anything, make knowledge on our civilisation as accessible and precise as we possibly can.
