Overview

Founded in 2000, The Stepladder Foundation is the creation of our CEO, Alison Jones. A former teacher, Alison observed a huge pool of unrecognised talent drifting through the system and leaving with results that were not reflective of their capabilities. Alison was determined to make a change, thus, The Stepladder Foundation was born. Our flagship provision is a tailor-made two-year programme, designed to both challenge and support young people aged between 14 and 16. The focus is simply to develop within our students a mind-set of aspiration. The programme consists of a mixture of engaging seminars, one-on-one mentoring sessions, pastoral care, academic assistance as well as inspirational talks and workshops with leaders of industry. With each programme designed to serve the individual needs of a student, no two are alike. Our offerings also include: • In-school motivational talks - providing encouragement for young people on aspiration and achievement • Parent training - advising parents and guardians on how best to support young people as they complete their education • Teacher training - customised programmes aiding all educational professionals to get the most out of their students • One-on-one mentoring - dealing with both pastoral and practical issues, such as stress management and career planning • Tuition services in a variety of subjects At its core, The Stepladder Foundation is a family of people committed to the belief that all is possible through diversity and if we can level the playing field, then society as a whole will always benefit.
