Overview

The Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) is an educational charity that aims to provide the opportunity for every child in Scotland to learn about food, farming and the countryside, and to create a wider understanding of the environmental, economic and social realities of rural Scotland. RHET currently reaches 1 in 8 children in Scotland and aims to be reaching 1 in 4 by 2020. All RHET products and services are FREE and they include: - Farm visits and outdoor education events across Scotland - Classroom speaker talks by volunteer farmers - Educational resource materials for schools - Competitions and projects for schools - Training farmers, volunteers and teachers in the delivery of information relating to food and farming - The Royal Highland Show education programme and RHET Children’s Discovery Centre
