Overview

Virginia House Settlement was established by Lord and Lady (Waldorf and Nancy) Astor in 1925; it was one of many contributions that they made to Plymouth and its communities. In 2019 we changed our name to reflect our founders and location – we are now The Plymouth Astor Trust (VHS). This section of the website tells you a little bit about the history of Virginia House Settlement and about what we do today. The Plymouth Astor Trust (VHS), formerly Virginia House Settlement, continues to benefit Plymouth’s communities 90 years after the Astor’s founded it – an extraordinary and lasting legacy.
