Overview

The Heritage Practice was established in 2011 as a consultancy providing advice on all aspects of the historic environment. The practice has extensive experience in dealing with a broad range of historic and listed buildings and structures, development affecting conservation areas and listed buildings and particularly with the planning and listed building consent processes. We have a strong interest in how good, contemporary design can integrate and help to manage change within the historic environment. We have a strong background in working with local planning authorities and other stakeholders. With offices in London and Gloucestershire, The Heritage Practice has experience in dealing with a variety of projects ranging from the conversion and repair of a Grade I listed former manor house in rural Norfolk to securing listed building consent and planning permission for the extension of a grade II* listed Georgian's merchant's house in Rotherhithe, London. Our team has knowledge and experience of historic buildings of all types and in integrating new development into historic contexts. Our work and experience has included small-scale alterations to listed buildings to major regeneration schemes such as at Battersea Power Station. Our projects are varied but our commitment to helping to manage appropriate change in the historic environment remains constant. We are proud to work on projects that protect the interest and character of historic buildings and places while ensuring good, modern design is secured and well-integrated into proposals, finding the best outcome for all concerned. Our website is currently being redeveloped but will be up and running soon. Our site will have full details of recent projects, our philosophy and approach and how we could help you. We will announce our launch date as soon as possible so please do watch this space (www.theheritagepractice.com).
