Good Future Design Alliance

Overview

The Good Future Design Alliance is a movement led by industry professionals committed to low-waste design + build practices. The Design and Build industry perpetuates a culture of waste. Over 500 million tons of construction and demolition waste are generated in the US each year—makes up 30% of all landfill waste and is twice that of all of US household waste. On average, interior spaces are remodeled every 3-5 years and over 12 million tons perfectly usable, oftentimes new material and furnishings head straight to the landfill from our job sites. That's enough furniture to fill a thirty 2,000 room hotels. . . each day. Additionally, products are often packaged in non-recyclable, toxic materials. The GFDA is founded on the belief that it’s time to start prioritizing more sustainable and low-waste practices in our work, including but not limited to the fields of interior design, architecture, making/manufacturing and construction. We can do better. We've launched this movement to help you and your firm reach all of your low-waste goals by connecting you with like-minded professionals, resources and services. We advocate for the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, whenever possible. Join the movement and do your part to help design a low-waste future.
