The Fort Worth Public Library Foundation

Non-profit Organizations

Overview

Our community loves its libraries. The Fort Worth Public Library Foundation provides financial support to enhance educational programming and other library services offered through the Fort Worth Library system. About Us The Fort Worth Public Library Foundation is a 501c3 charity created to provide access for private capital to enhance the City of Fort Worth’s delivery of library services for the benefit of the community. Library Foundation donors ensure that these programs and services remain free to all the residents of Fort Worth. History The Library Foundation was founded in 1993 to address the physical needs of the Central Library. Following the initial successful campaign, Foundation leadership continued to raise money to supplement public funding of the library system. To date, the Foundation has raised nearly $9 million for building renovations, programming for children, teens, and adults, technology enhancements for library services, and collections. As the population of Fort Worth grows, the need for private funding to supplement public funding continues. Mission The mission of The Fort Worth Public Library Foundation is to inspire, secure, and grow philanthropic support and advocacy that benefits the Fort Worth Public Library and our diverse community. Libraries are a part of America’s tapestry and essential to the life of our community. Promoting early learning to lifelong learning, providing resources for job training and life skills, encouraging families through interaction, gathering our neighbors together for entertaining—libraries change, even TRANSFORM lives!
