Overview

We provide resources and training for activity coordinators and people working in activities in care homes, hospitals and day centres. OUR MISSION We believe passionately that the elderly and those with dementia deserve the absolute best. In their later years it is vital we work as hard as we can to keep their minds active and engaged and ensure their daily lives are filled with stimulating, enjoyable and interesting experiences. THE DAILY SPARKLE NEWSPAPER A stimulating and inspirational resource for the elderly and those suffering from dementia, The Daily Sparkle has been used in over 10,000 care settings (care homes, NHS hospitals and Day Centres) throughout the UK, and is the country’s most used and most successful resource for frail elderly and people with dementia. This customised and personalised resource focuses on including "old news" listings to encourage reminiscence, brain games for mind fitness such as puzzles, quizzes, stimulating questions and entertainment. ACTIVITIES RESOURCES Our Monthly Magazine features crafts, games, recipes, talking activities, discussion points, tips for planning events, music CDs and more to help activities coordinators plan their daily sessions and get more out of The Daily Sparkle. These resources are included with nearly all our subscriptions, and are an invaluable planning tool. TRAINING A comprehensive one day course covering key aspects of the activity coordinator role, including life story work, different stages of dementia, effective use of resources, planning your activity programme and CQC inspection requirements. The course is a fantastic opportunity to get support, ideas and confidence in your role, as well as meeting and networking with fellow activity coordinators.
