Overview

The Anglo-American School of Sofia is a diverse and friendly school which provides a high quality education within an excellent learning environment. The AAS mission is to engage, support and prepare each student for today and tomorrow. Our core values are, commitment, respect and excellence. Situated at the foot of Mount Vitosha, our school benefits from the many advantages the region offers, with both city and nature close at hand. AAS serves the international and Bulgarian communities in Sofia, Bulgaria. We have over 500 students, aged 4 to 19, from over 45 countries. We offer a curriculum that combines both US and UK best practice. We are accredited by the Council of International Schools, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. We are an authorized International Baccalaureate World School and an associate member of The Council of British International Schools. The AAS mission is to ... * foster a love of learning, healthy living and international community; * develop the knowledge, skills and values to communicate, find solutions and innovate; * enhance critical thinking, resourcefulness and creativity; * cultivate leadership, compassion and responsible citizenship in both attitudes and actions; * nurture the abilities to interact effectively with others and to act independently with confidence. “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” – Aristotle
