ACE Resource Network

Overview

The ACE Resource Network launched the first national public awareness and education campaign on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) in 2021. Called the Story of Your Number, the campaign and resource hub available at NumberStory.org, provides information, resources, and share strategies to prevent ACEs, address their effects, and support healing at the individual, community, and system levels. We work to connect a powerful network of amazing scientists, medical professionals, organizations and individuals working today to address ACEs. Considerable work has gone into understanding and addressing ACEs. They are difficult, potentially traumatic experiences a child faces before the age of 18. ACEs come in many forms: physical, emotional, or sexual abuse; physical or emotional neglect; having a household member with mental illness or substance abuse; witnessing domestic violence; having an incarcerated household member; or divorce or separation of parents. These experiences are common - about 2 out of 3 of us have at least 1 ACE. We support initiatives that help break the cycle of ACEs within the communities and populations most impacted. We stick to science, and empower people with ACEs. Everyone has a story, and we value each individual’s experience and journey. We respect the wisdom in every human being. We encourage everyone to learn more about ACEs. Together, we can create lasting change.
