TerraVac Vacuum Excavation

Overview

At TerraVac we specialise in vacuum excavation, widely known as the safest and most effective method of excavation where underground services are concerned as it minimises the risk of strike. Vacuum excavation allows for the safe exposure, location and verification of assets (whether known or unknown) during any stage of construction or earthworks, and in turn reduces risk to plant and personnel, and downtime on site. We regularly carry out works for civil construction, electrical, communications and plumbing contractors, including: • Potholing to locate existing underground services • Trenches for installation of new services • Vacuum excavating precise holes for the installation or maintenance of light poles, service pits, pipes, bulk excavations and soakwell liners • Excavating around tree roots for stump removal • Work for shade sail and sign installers as we are able to excavate precise holes for the support footings We have recently expanded our services to include locating and tracing using Electromagnetic Induction (EMI) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to locate underground assets. Using EMI and/or GPR we can precisely identify the existence of underground services, then utilising non-destructive digging techniques (vacuum excavation) we pothole to positively identify and accurately determine the depth, alignment and the type of service located. We can also provide site reports and/or map overlays of discovered services for easy and accurate reference. As you are no doubt aware, it is an ATCO Gas requirement to have accurate location and supervision for any works in the vicinity of HP Gas to ensure the safety of everyone in the area and the integrity of the gas network as a whole. We are approved to provide ATCO High Pressure Gas Location and Supervision.
