Overview

Love for the territory and passion for the world of agriculture are the elements that drive the Tenute Baldo Agricola The company owns 60 hectares of vineyards which spread over the DOC and DOCG communes of Torgiano and Montefalco. 40 out of these 70 ha which stretch out on the wonderful hills of Torgiano, are planted with Grechetto - elegant white grape variety unique to the Umbrian region. Other international varieties such as Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese which is the most important red grape of the Torgiano denomination, flourish here as well. The remaining 20 ha of vineyards owned by the Tenute Baldo Agricola spread over the picturesque hills of Montefalco. This is the only area in Italy apt to the noble grape of the Sagrantino wine. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese grow here as well. Traditional methods of farming together with technological innovations coexist to add meticulous attention to the crop for the limited production of the most typical wines of the area. The Tenute Baldo Agricola's production ethic has always included respect for the environment, hand in hand with innovation. Sustainability is at the core of the business. To reach its sustainable targets, the firm focuses on reducing the presence of sulphites in its wines – through natural adjuvants and specific oenological practices –, as well as using renewable energy sources and 100% natural stoppers, for some of its wines. Moreover, the Tenute Baldo Agricola works with partners to efficiently implement and handle waste management and recycling. The Tenute Baldo Agricola team consists of experts specialised in the various stages of wine making, to follow the process of grape growing, selection and harvest, as well as the aging and bottling of the wine. They also manage the constant technical supervision and quality control to guarantee the excellence of every single product of the line ''Tenute Baldo''
