Overview

Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF) is an essential platform for both emerging and established filmmakers, arguably one of the most important showcases for short films not only in Iran, but also in the region. The festival is a qualifying festival for the Academy Awards® (Oscars) and it hosts international well known festival directors and cineasts from around the world. TISFF is a member of International Short Film Conference (ISFC) enabling different players in the short film world to work together and share their experience in an informal, non-political and flexible atmosphere. TISFF is organized by the Iranian Youth Cinema Society (IYCS). Iranian Youth Cinema Society (IYCS) is an independent educational film organization which has been established over 40 years ago. IYCS is associated to the Iranian Ministry of Culture and has 70 branch offices around the country. Activities of IYCS is in 3 fields: 1- Management of short film festivals. 2- IYCS is one of the oldest film schools in the country and perhaps in the world with more than 70 branch offices all around the country. It educates youth in compacted one- year film course. 3- Production and distribution of short films.
