Overview

TeenSpace promotes safe space for teenagers to express themselves freely while promoting mental well-being amongst teenagers and young adults through curated content, workshops, therapeutic consultations and community support. Why do we exist: Globally, one in seven 10-19-year-olds experiences a mental disorder, accounting for 13% of the global average. Depression, anxiety and behavioural disorders are among the leading causes of illness and disability among adolescents and teens. Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death among 15-29 year-olds. The consequences of failing to address adolescent mental health conditions extend to adulthood, impairing both physical and mental health and limiting opportunities to lead fulfilling lives as adults. And this is what led us to step into space. Who Are We: Kaajal Ahuja, the Founder of TeenSpace, comes with 17+ years of work experience, in the corporate world and from that of being a homepreneur. She has worked with organisations such as HDFC Bank, Dell International and JobsForHer, and also runs 'Hey Gorgeous' - a home-boutique. TeenSpace stems from her personal passion and the calling of being a mother to an 18-year old herself. Sowmya Parthasarathy, Co-founder of TeenSpace is a social entrepreneur who is a certified Expressive Arts Facilitator & SEL Trainer. She finds art to be an empowering tool to create a safe space where young minds are able to inculcate a growth mindset and thrive in their environments.
