Adult & Teen Challenge of Central Canada

Non-profit Organizations

Overview

Adult & Teen Challenge is a Christian discipleship program dedicated to helping people who are struggling with addiction. It was founded in 1958 by the late David Wilkerson (author of The Cross & The Switchblade). There are now 1400 programs operating in 125 countries, including those in Central Canada: Brandon, Winnipeg, Pembina Valley & Thunder Bay. Our model for recovery is based on biblical principles, accountability and support. RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS Our core 12-month programs help men and women 18 find freedom from addiction. Students participate in a structured environment that includes individual and group mentoring, spiritual disciplines, classes, employable skills certification and on the job training, personalized study contracts and community service. NON-RESIDENTIAL - Support groups run consecutively in communities and prisons throughout our region to provide hope and support to individuals with a past or current addiction along with family members with a struggling loved one, AFTERCARE PROGRAMS Studies show the longer individuals remain in discipleship, the more successful they will be. As of 2019 we have two options for continuing programming: our 18-month SURGE staff training program and our 18-month Successful Living Program.
