Overview

Venezuela is a privileged country located north of South America, wich has lakes, gulfs, bays and seas in its northern area; and to the south are the rivers that dominate the scene with a great collector, the Orinoco river. It is the only country in South America that presents a maritime facade towards the inland sea of the Antilles and another open towards the Atlantic Ocean. Venezuela has about 2,822 km of coastline, divided into two oceanic facades with different characteristics: it has approximately 2,256 km on the Caribbean Sea and 556 km on the Atlantic Ocean, not including the coast of French Guiana. Venezuela is a country of crossroads and convergences, which is why it acts as an Andean, Caribbean, Atlantic and Amazonian country that, associated with the importance of its resources, makes it a specific center of power on these regions. The Orinoco-Apure axle This fluvial axis links the Andean west with the industrial complex of Guayana. The Táchira, Apure, Barinas, Guárico, Anzoátegui, Bolívar, Monagas, Delta Amacuro and Amazonas states are found in its longitude. In these regions there are important urban-industrial complexes such as Ciudad Guayana, and of great agricultural, livestock, forestry and mining potential in the southwest of the central-western plains. This fluvial axis contains 90% of the hydraulic resources of Venezuela, 95% of the hydroelectric potential, 97% of the forest potential, 90% of the heavy crude, 50% of the soils for livestock activities and 33% of the soils for agriculture. Aware of the incalculable value of the Orinoco River, Tecnave was founded on May 21, 2013 in order to meet the needs of the region, in terms of supporting river operations, and with the firm conviction of being a company with the capacity to provide a permanent contribution to the maximum development of the country's naval industry.
