Overview

Tabora began in 1989 when Jane and Roger Eatherton purchased a 10-acre orchard in Bucks County, PA. Formerly known as Mager's High Hopes Orchard, it specialized in apple cider and seasonal fruit. Building on this, Tabora’s offerings expanded with family recipe baked goods, fresh jams and apple butter. Jane and Roger quickly became well known to the local Bucks County farmer’s market community for their creative and high-quality food under the name of Tabora Farm and Orchard. This memorable name of Tabora originated from Jane’s childhood home in Cape Town, South Africa. Tabora grew and became established as a destination for home-crafted baked goods, creative holiday and deli inspirations. In short order, this exponential growth expanded their staff from 2 to 24 full and part-time employees. Tabora Farm and Orchard operated for 20 years and was sold in 2008. Jane and Roger started a new venture in the Finger Lakes of New York as Tabora Vineyards operating a 250-acre farm supplying local and national wine and juice producers. Never far from those early day’s roots, Tabora Farm & Winery is bringing back all those home-crafted bakery and deli offerings in a converted building built in the early 1900's. It’s distinctive Cape Dutch architecture reflects Tabora’s unique South African heritage.
