Sustainable Biomass and Bioproducts Engineering - Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters

Higher Education

Overview

The SBBE is realized at 3 Full Higher EducationInstitution Partners from 3 European Union countries: 1. Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WUST) Poland, 2. University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) Spain, 3. Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (LUT) Finland. The SBBE is the 2 years (4 semesters) program in the field of chemical engineering. It corresponds to 120 ECTS credits. Each recruited student (18- 22 people/year) will be getting a scholarship (1400 EUR/month) for the whole period of study. SBBE program offers: • Fundamental knowledge of an advanced organic chemistry for biobased materials and their in depth analysis. • Engineering knowledge about the design and operation of industrial facilities for the bioproducts processing. • Practical knowledge about green technologies involved in the production of the biobased vectors, utilization of biotechniques for green treatment and conversion of biomass. • Environmental knowledge related to minimizing environmental impacts of bioprocesses and increasing use of bio-based products in order to reduce the dependence on fossil-based ones. • Economic knowledge about cost optimization and energy consumption to increase bio-processes industrial adoption.
