Overview

Suomen Hyötytuuli Ltd., founded in 1998, is a wind power production and development company operating in Finland. Our mission is to produce wind power and to increase general knowledge of wind power by marketing and R&D. Suomen Hyötytuuli has six wind farms in operation, one located in Kalajoki, two located in Pori and three in Raahe and we also have several wind farm projects in several locations in Finland. Suomen Hyötytuuli has remarkably contributed to the development of wind energy utilization in Finland. In fact, the company was the first in Finland to build industrial size wind turbines in 1999. Along with the onshore wind farms, Suomen Hyötytuuli is significantly involved in offshore farms. In 2010, the company built Finland’s first offshore wind turbine in Tahkoluoto, Pori and in August 2017, Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy celebrated the commissioning of Tahkoluoto’s wind farm, the world’s first offshore wind farm designed for icy conditions. Tahkoluoto is Finland’s first wind farm built on offshore foundations. The owners of Suomen Hyötytuuli are Helen (Oy Mankala Ab), Alva-yhtiöt, Lahti Energia, Lappeenrannan Energia, Pori Energia, Tampereen Sähkölaitos, Turku Energia, and Vantaan Energia.
