Overview

Changing the Way the Industry Delivers Meaningful Sustainability - As a partner at Behnisch Architekten, Christof led the firm’s expansion into the US and Canada. In addition to Genzyme Center, he led the 55 Park Street Laboratory Building for Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, and the Anna Head Student Housing Complex for the University of California at Berkeley. A multifaceted view of sustainability informs all of his work through active engagement with context, building technology, and systems. His collaborations with fellow designers, expert consultants, fabricators, contractors, and artists has led to innovative integration of both passive and active building systems strategies and cutting edge technologies. During the last ten years his work has received over twenty design awards, has been published in numerous books and periodicals, and has been included in several exhibitions nationally and internationally. Christof has lectured widely about his design work and has participated in symposia and panel discussions alike. His willingness to share his insights has played a significant role, setting a new standard for integrated design and delivery to the entire design and construction industry.
