Student Chapter for Corporate Law and Practice

Legal Services

Overview

Student Chapter for Corporate Law and Practice is an initiative under the Centre for Global Corporate and Financial Law and Policy from Jindal Global Law School. Through this Chapter, the students aim to inculcate a robust learning environment for corporate law at JGLS and provide a platform for aspiring corporate lawyers to showcase their analytical proficiency through research and other activities. Currently, the SCCLP has two primary initiatives: Global Business Law Review Blog (GBLR) and the Pre-Placement Symposium Series. The Global Business Law Review Blog will act as a structured reserve for articles on Corporate Law and other niche areas of Business Law. We intend to open GBLR to both internal and external contributors, including imminent scholars and legal practitioners. This blog will also contain a section where some of the best corporate minds in the country will share their professional opinions on legal advancements in order to give readers a practitioner’s perspective on the same. A special section with written interviews featuring Corporate Lawyers will be curated to provide the readers with an insight into the workings of the Corporate World. The Pre-Placement Symposium Series is a venture in collaboration with the Office of Career Services (OCS) to help the JGLS Penultimate Batch Students prepare for their Zero- Day Placements. This symposium will be structured as an interactive session with industry professionals from the law firms recruiting from JGLS. Recruiters and/or professionals from various divisions of these Law firms will be invited to provide students an insight into the practice of Business Law in their respective divisions and their expectations from the applicants. Through this initiative, we aim to inculcate a stronger relationship with the recruiters and help the students be better informed and prepared for their placement interviews.
