Overview

StreetDoctors changes lives by giving young people at risk of violence the skills and confidence to deliver lifesaving first aid. In 2019 we taught emergency life-saving skills to 5,205 young people, and we know of over 15 cases where young people have used the skills we teach at scenes of medical emergencies. Our sessions are taught by a dedicated movement of over 550 young healthcare volunteers, medics, nurses and paramedics, based in 22 local teams in 17 cities in the UK. Our strategic goals for 2015 - 2018 are: - To reduce the numbers of young people who die or are injured as a result of youth violence. - To reduce the likelihood of young people at risk engaging in youth violence. - To increase the likelihood of young people at risk making positive choices that benefit their own and others' well-being.
