Overview

Science-based ancient wisdom for humanity which has proven mental health benefits. It creates a sense of clarity, balance, and tranquility. Mindfulness training has been found to boost neuroplasticity and even to physically rebuild the gray matter in the brain. An eight-week course of meditation has been known to shrink the amygdala - the brain's fight or flight center - while thickening the prefrontal cortex, an area associated with awareness, concentration, and decision-making. Retraining the relationship between our eyes, our little thoughts, and our small self can be a good place to start. We may start to bring our eyes back to their healthy states and allow the information to enter our newly awakened awareness. Try practicing this 3-step meditation: 1. Sitting with your back and neck straight, and becoming completely still. 2. Fixing your gaze on a point at eye-level height facing in the direction of the sun. (Blinking every 5-15 seconds) 3. Setting a StillGaze Timer for 15-30 mins. Vision is the result of a complicated system, of which the eyes are only one component, according to the American Foundation for the Blind. It has been estimated that as much as 40% of the brain is used in the processing of visual information, which includes the reception of visual stimuli through the eyes, its interpretation by different brain areas, and its translation into visual representations. We are alert when our eyes are darting around or searching for a specific threat. By concentrating and focusing on ourselves, we can sometimes keep our brains in a fixed, task-positive mode. Being able to switch to another operating system, with open-hearted awareness as its endpoint, where all of our senses and systems, including vision, are operating in their natural state: open, relaxed, clear, and integrated, is the aim of easy mindfulness practise. At StillGaze we are sharing Ai-based tools to shift our consciousness by increasing attentive awareness. Happy Meditating!
