Overview

STEM Gems is a nonprofit organization with programming designed to expose tween and teen girls to a wide range of STEM careers and women in various STEM fields, particularly those underrepresented by women. The organization was founded by Stephanie Espy, a chemical engineer, educator, and entrepreneur, and uses the STEM Gems book and curriculum to reach girls, teachers, and parents. Additionally, STEM Gems augments the visibility of women in STEM, past and present, to highlight achievements that often go unrecognized. We promote stories that should be mainstream, careers underrepresented by women, research that shines a light on challenges and solutions, and opportunities for women and girls.
