Overview

The International Sports Academy is a US-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that exists to strengthen, empower and grow the international local church using the tool of sports. We partner with churches all over the world to establish organized sports programs for at-risk youth in order to connect them with long-term mentors and change their lives, now and for eternity. We link these programs with existing churches, schools and clubs so that the programs are sustainable, continuing even when we’re not there. We work to break down generational, cultural and religious barriers so that the individual can have an easier path to find life through Jesus Christ. In many of the places ISA works, there are no youth sports facilities, programs, or equipment–not even a public park in which to play. And when there’s nothing to do, kids get into trouble. Many young people end up in gangs, kidnapped by human traffickers, or recruited by terrorists, and many more turn to drugs and alcohol. By organizing ongoing sports programs for these kids, we keep them off the streets and out of trouble. They gain all the benefits sports offers, including learning teamwork, perseverance, and self-confidence. And by connecting them with quality long-term adult mentors, we help them navigate life and growing up. When the church owns the only ball in town, they have a new opportunity to reach their community with the love of Christ.
