Overview
Welcome to the most advanced integrated Cancer Treatment Center serving Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho and Montana out of Spokane, Wa. Spokane Cyberknife & Radiation Oncology center has the most advanced Cyberknife M6 and Varian Truebeam HD. This is a stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) also called stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) center of excellence. SRS/SBRT is the evolution of radiation therapy. SRS/SBRT has overcome the challenges from conventional radiation therapy, in that SRS/SBRT is extremely accurate (to less than a millimeter) for ablating tumors without impacting surrounding healthy tissue. With the Cyberknife it is the only dedicated Robotic SRS/SBRT system that can detect, track and treat tumors in motion and maintain sub-millimeter accuracy. The advanced robotic design can approach a tumor from virtually any angle, and the highly sophisticated tracking software and image guidance can keep the surgical accuracy, with out surgery, anesthesia or needles. Cyberknife treatments are completed in 5 days or less, each treatment lasting approximately one hour. Conventional radiation therapy treats cancers over 7 to 9 weeks with severe side effects. Cyberknife side effects are minimized to non-existent. We hope patients and physicians will explore their options for any cancerous or non-cancerous tumor that exists in the body. Brain treatments are frameless (Gamma Knife requires a stereotactic frame to be screwed to the patients skull for mobilization).
