Overview

Specialist Training & Consultancy was established in 1999 to serve the Transport, Warehousing and Dangerous Goods Industries on a National basis. Primarily, our training courses are based around Regulations where training is mandatory. Our head office and main training centre is located in Accrington, Lancashire where we have a dedicated training warehouse offering Certificate of Competence and RTITB Fork Lift Truck operator and Instructor courses. We also have three training classrooms where we hold a range of courses such as First Aid, ADR (Dangerous Goods) and Driver CPC training on a regular basis which can comfortably seat 20 drivers. We were one of the earliest to be approved by JAUPT (approval number 26) for Driver CPC and one of the largest commercial providers of training to the industry. Our clients range in size from blue chip to many local SME companies around East Lancashire. Our selection of courses approved by JAUPT are extensive and reviewed on an annual basis to ensure we provide our customers with a choice. In addition, we also write bespoke courses for our customers to align their training programme to their business strategy. An example of where this occurred was when we wrote a course aimed at training the drivers on the understanding and use of Telematics as the client had just had the delivery of a new fleet of vehicles which all had telematics built in. The expertise of our trainers and consultants in the field of Dangerous Goods spans across the country serving clients such as the NHS as well as the SME market. Relatively new to this market is the increased demand on training for those organisations who are involved with the transport of Lithium Batteries by Air.
