Overview

SOFtoSOM is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization aimed at changing tomorrow's American healthcare system by helping Special Operations Forces (SOF) servicemembers become physicians. SOF service members possess the qualities, values, and beliefs innately found in exceptional physicians, as they demonstrate unparalleled dedication, commitment to excellence, and service to others. Despite this, less than 2% of veterans are represented in the medical field, while 7-8% of the US population is characterized as a veteran. We believe the foundational pillar values of SOF make for superb and influential community physicians, and SOF2SOM is committed to bridging this gap through our mentorship, research, and sponsorship programs.
