Overview

Sparsha is a voluntary, nonprofit organization working for the holistic development of needy and vulnerable children. Our ongoing interventions are Non-Formal Education, formal school enrollment of working and street children, parental awareness regarding issues of child labor, and the importance of formal education and night shelters for urban homeless in the city of Bangalore. As of today the organization has been successful and rehabilitated 1250 working and street children and enrolled them in local formal schools with a success rate of 95%. we also operate one night shelter homes for the urban homeless with an average of 50 homeless do take shelter every night at these shelters. Sparsha trust Designed program Shikshana Mitra, Gnana Mitra, Makkala Mitra, Chinnara Thangudhama and established safe platform for needy and vulnerable children, I.e. drop outs, Street children, Begging children, Ragpickers, single parented, orphan children, abandoned and working children with special needs to provide basic services and integrate them into the main-stream of the society. At present Sparsha trust is taking care of 182children reaching more than 600 children in the community through Gnana Mitra. The organization is also focused to conduct capacity-building trainings for lower primary and higher primary school teachers in the area of formal education and ways and means to promote all child rights and also right to education. As of today the organization has rehabilitated1250 children in 2 phases- formal school enrollment and reintegration with their respective parents/family reunion. At present Sparsha Trust has initiated its dream project ‘NISARGA GRAMA’ an Educational Rehabilitation center for 500 deprived children at Hesaraghatta. This unit shall have accommodation separately for Boys and Girls, primary health center, Multidimensional learning center, Amphi Theater, cowshed, basic agricultural activity, and other required facilities.
