Despite significant growth, the company still leads the market when it comes to offering quality safaris in East Africa. After nearly 50 years of providing stylish, unusual, and utterly memorable safaris to literally hundreds of thousands of clients, our philosophy of ‘excellence through experience’ is well founded. The proprietor Mike Kirkland, a third generation Kenyan, takes a personal interest in the planning through to the completion of every safari tour. Our expertise, quality of service and exceptional client care together with that of the staff and affiliated Agents, ensures a service second to none. The ability to meet the needs of the most demanding and discerning clientele, has firmly established Southern Cross Safaris' excellent reputation within the travel industry worldwide. A reputation that has been recognised by over 12 awards in the last few years, including being voted “Best Tour Operator in Kenya” four years in a row. Southern Cross Safaris manages a fleet of over 70 vehicles, ranging from private saloon cars, safari microbuses, air-conditioned Toyota Land Cruisers to luxury air-conditioned coaches. In addition to our extensive fleet, Southern Cross Safaris also has ownership interest through its partners and of a small airline with executive aircraft and two luxury Safari Camps. As a result, Southern Cross Safaris is able to offer a quality end product with a standard that our clients have come to expect from us.
