Overview

Since its inception in 1991, SYFP has brought together public, private and community organisations to realise environmental and economic regeneration initiatives. We have successfully led the design and delivery of six major EU Interreg programmes: Creating a Setting for Investment, Value, MP4, Value Added, APACHES and SEEDS. As well as supporting Interreg, ERDF and other externally funded programmes from Activating Forest Owners to the South Yorkshire Green Infrastructure Strategy. As a part of the Community Forest Network, South Yorkshire Forest Partnership (SYFP) is a passionate advocate of the benefits of urban trees and woodlands. From stately urban boulevards to flood attenuation, we’ve supported urban trees and woodlands through finding funding for research and investment, green infrastructure strategy, and the simple activity of planting over one million trees in and around urban centres. Its ongoing vision is to create over 3,500 Ha of woodland by 2035.
