Soroptimist is an international organization of individuals who belong to local clubs who want to ensure that women and girls have access to resources and opportunities to reach their full potential and live their dreams. Our primary projects are Live Your Dream Awards for women and the Dream It, Be It Program for girls. Clubs in local communities provide women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. We are a force of about 95,000 Soroptimists in 120 countries and territories. We contribute time and financial support to community–based and international projects that benefit women and girls. The name, Soroptimist, means “best for women,” and that’s what the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are women at their best, working to help other women to be their best. Our region structure includes over 2,500 members in 76 clubs and five states in the Pacific Northwest of the United States of America. Our headquarters, Soroptimist International of the Americas is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is Soroptimist International of the Americas" which is one of four federations under its parent organization, Soroptimist International, which is headquartered in Cambridge, England.
