Overview

At Solar Health Uganda, we’re committed to investing our expertise to promote renewable energy and to combat climate change. Since 2017, we have been obtaining funding from LTBLI and working with it and other partners, to support off-grid rural communities to have access to information about renewable energy through outreach education, solar electrifying rural health clinics and distributing pico solar lights. Together with LTBLI and other partners, we are raising awareness about initiatives to benefit vulnerable communities and individuals living in extreme energy poverty. Through the program’s innovative model, we are helping existing social service organizations to improve their health, wellness, educational, economic, and environmental outcomes. We advocate for social service organizations and NGOs serving off-grid communities to incorporate an energy-access perspective into their existing programming. Solar Health Uganda program officers are available for short-term and long-term consultations.
