Overview

The Slovak Banking Association is a leading financial association and the only association representing the interest of banks in Slovakia. The SBA has 29 members (25 banks) and represents by assets 100% of Slovak banking sector. The SBA is an association of legal entities doing business in the area of banking and financing, founded in 1993 to protect interests of its members and support their activities. The Slovak Banking Association’s aim is to primarily optimize legal environment in the area of banking and to cooperate with state bodies and other subjects on creating acts and regulations. Since 1996 the Slovak Banking Association is a member of the European Banking Federation – EBF and the European Payment Council. In 2003 it merged with the Association of Banks and Insurance Companies. Since 2006 the SBA is also a member of the National Union of Employers.
