Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto

Non-profit Organizations

Overview

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto are a community of Roman Catholic Sisters who strive to answer God's call by nurturing community especially with the homeless, the alienated, the economically poor, women at risk and our wounded Earth. Each person employed with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto is part of a legacy that began in 1851 when four Sisters first arrived in the city to run an orphanage and teach in the schools. The Sisters went on to establish ministries in social services, health care, social justice and more. In Toronto alone, they founded St. Michael's Hospital, St. Joseph's Health Centre, Providence Healthcare, St. Michael's Homes, Nazareth House, Furniture Bank and Fontbonne Ministries. The Sisters value compassion, teamwork, dignity and environmental awareness in all employees and seek individuals who provide quality service and contribute to creating a trusting, welcoming and respectful environment. The Sisters are also committed to providing accessible employment practices in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
