Sinovel Wind Group Co., Ltd. is the first company in China engaged in the independent development, design, manufacture and marketing of multi-megawatt onshore, offshore, and intertidal series wind turbines that can adapt to different wind zones and environments. Sinovel's product offerings, which include multiple variants of the 1.5MW, 3.0MW, 5.0MW, and 6.0MW series turbines have been installed and operated in numerous international locations. Variants are available for Class I through Class IV IEC wind zones including proven options for cold weather environments. With robust growth, Sinovel manufactured and erected a total capacity in excess of 1400MW in 2008, which ranked #1 in China and #7 in the world. In 2009 the newly installed capacity of Sinovel was over 3500MW, maintaining its #1 position in China and ascending the global rankings to #3 in the world. In 2010, an additional 4400MW of installed capacity allowed Sinovel to maintain the #1 position in China and to secure the #2 global position for annual installed capacity. In 2011, with close to 3000MW of newly installed capacity, Sinovel surpassed 5% of the total global installed capacity meaning that 1 out of every 20 MW of wind energy capacity installed in the world is produced from a Sinovel wind turbine.
