Overview

Company sincroll is developing and commercializing its patented gear technology in mechanical engineering, selling licenses and know-how, also advisory, design and prototyping services. sincroll is working together with clients in development projects to develop new applications and products for the clients' markets based on the sincroll technology. The Company is also running its own R&D and constantly generates further new patents and know-how. The sincroll technology provides a fundamentally new approach to mechanical gearing - it represents a paradigm shift in a core discipline of the mechanical engineering sciences. It employs balls (rollers) to transmit torque from the input to the output shaft where the balls carry out pure rolling motion with no sliding friction. All sincroll gears have close to 100% efficiency and no back-lash, and can also make very high gearing ratios and high contact factors. The technology is very different and thus generates gear solutions with numerous very different features - that depending on the application can represent major advantages. For example, conventional worm gears have efficiency between 20-50% while the corresponding sincroll gears have over 98%. The technology can produce alternative solutions to every gearing problem including any geometry, axes angles, offsets, gearing ratios, size, torque, rpm etc. Thus it is applicable in the entire $200-billion large gear market. The balls make contact with the input and output wheels exactly as those in ball bearings. In fact, sincroll gears are ball bearings performing gearing functions - hence the slogan "BEARINGS FOR GEARING." The Company has been running development projects with prominent companies in the automotive, aviation, construction, machine tools, railways and wind turbines industries developing a broad variety of applications. Recently, sincroll has shifted its focus onto the electric vehicles market where it concentrates its activities.
