Overview

We are a Inclusive Rugby Club that was set up in Sheffield in August 2017. We are a part of a group of clubs that have been set up by the IGR (International Gay Rugby) and their Spirit of Rugby Campaign. Homophobia can be rife in sports clubs and this can put the LGBTQ community off from participating. Our main aim is provide a safe place for LGBTQ peoples or anyone in general to participate in sports without worry of prejudice. Inclusive Rugby means that whether you are gay/straight, big/small, young/old, an experienced rugby player or never picked up a ball, we want to see you get involved and join the Sheffield Vulcans. We play in tournaments and friendlies across the UK as well as weekly training sessions, regular socials, and take an active role in the Sheffield LGBT scene. In 2020 we are aiming on taking part in the Bingham Cup, an international tournament in Ottawa, Canada with the other clubs that are part of International Gay Rugby.
