Overview

Founded in 2007, Severn Freewheelers is a charity organisation, made up entirely from volunteers, providing a professional, efficient service to our community, at no cost to the local NHS Trusts that we support. We transport by motorcycle or car urgently needed items such as blood, medicines and samples across Worcestershire, in addition to Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and North Wiltshire. Eleven emergency service bikes and three 4x4 cars are available 365 days a year, with members working weekdays, evenings and weekends. Consisting mainly of motorbike riders, car drivers, controllers and fundraisers, our team at Severn Freewheelers has grown since foundation in membership from one motorcycle and five volunteers to the current fleet size and over 150 members, representing a variety of people from many walks of life. We transport blood products, urgent samples and medical supplies, along with donated breast milk to hospitals and milk banks across and beyond our area.
