Overview

Missions: 1. To advance the growth of students and professional individuals. 2. To empower Vietnamese people irrespective of their history and political background. 3. To benefit the general community, environment, and society in Seattle. Our stories: The idea of establishing a group to connect and benefit the Vietnamese community in Seattle started at a lunch table at Amazon headquarters in Seattle, WA, in March 2019. Our two founders, Hien Le and Rubie Ngoc Nguyen, discussed the lack of an official group that represents and unites Vietnamese professionals, students and youth community in Seattle. They decided to solve this problem by pioneering Seattle Vietnamese Professionals (SVP). They then welcomed Linh Le, a community activist, working at the University of Washington to join their Board of Directors. As they had strong professional connections in Seattle and wanted to extend the reach to the student network, they had Linh Tran and Quoc Thai Hoang, two determined energetic students at the University of Washington, join their leadership team within a month. Together, SVP aspires to empower Vietnamese professionals to achieve more personally and professionally through community activities, career mentorship, and large-scale events. Seattle Vietnamese Professionals (SVP) has been growing ever since. Within less than 5 months of the launch - as of August 2019, we have had 170 followers on Facebook, 7 events launched, and responses from over 50 professionals in Seattle.
