Overview

Many of the Universities and Institutes of developed countries like Japan, Korea, and China require students to do research on different subjects. Therefore, SIMEC Institute of Technology decided to start its journey in the field of research in 2019, starting from the World Forum on Climate Justice Conference at Glasgow Caledonian University and Glasgow University in the United Kingdom by the President of the Institute Professor Dr. Md. Monirul Islam and Chairman, Engr. Sardar Md. Shaheen. Then a climate justice forum was created by SIMEC Institute, named “Forum for Climate Justice, Bangladesh” on the 25th of July, 2019. SDGs Action Research Center was first established in January 2020 at SIMEC Institute of Technology by Prof. Md. Amzad Hossain, Ph.D. (Spirituality), Ph.D. (Sustainability). The institution’s fundamental objective is human resource development through appropriate education and guidance for the creation of a new culture of sustainable development, achieving SDGs, and long-term self-reliant sustainability. SDGs Action Research Center also aims at influencing national policies on the localization of SDGs. The major objectives of the Institute include being able to run courses on achieving SDGs and contemporary socioeconomic and environmental issues including the pandemic caused by the Corona syndrome. As well as, being able to other outcome based applied education, for students to develop skills for innovation, renovation of unsustainable socio-economic and environmental entities, for students to take part in action researchers and to provide employment and consultancy services, etc.
