WHAT I DO I teach people how to create a business around a special message or skill. HOW I DO IT I advise and mentor clients through a structured 5-step process that takes them from conceptualization to commercialization of their own business. WHO I AM I’m a lifelong entrepreneur, host of the Screw the Naysayers Podcast(where I’ve interviewed people like Seth Godin) an author, a public speaker, and I’m blessed to be a Business and Thought Leadership Mentor to a growing number of very special people. What I want you to know about me is that I’m a person who consistently challenges conventional wisdom. That defiance allowed me to create an entrepreneurial career that spans more than three decades and aligns with the things I want in life. It’s given me an opportunity to positively impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. It’s given me and my family a well above average income. And it’s given me the independence to be my boss, to control my own schedule, and for Debbie and I to raise our family in a remote fishing village where her ancestors settled after arriving in North America. None of this would have been possible if I hadn’t found the courage to defy conventional wisdom. I was the idiot who quit one of the highest paid sales jobs in the country. I was surrounded by people saying “You don’t quit jobs like that.” My wife and I moved to that tiny fishing village in Nova Scotia, Canada. People told us we were destined for poverty. That we’d be crawling back to the city with our tails between our legs. The naysayers laughed when I started an educational software company. They stopped laughing when my sales topped $10 million. All this happened because I chose to defy conventional wisdom. I started the Screw the Naysayers movement to empower people to shatter self-limiting beliefs, defy conventional wisdom, and live a bigger life.
