Overview

The international high-tech company, SCANTECH, was created in 1992 and has been led by two physics researchers from CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) since 2003. Today, the company continues to grow and employs close to 250 people around the world. SCANTECH is headquartered in France, and has fully-owned subsidiaries in Germany, Italy, the United States, China, Taiwan, South Korea, India, and Malaysia. They are also present in Thailand and Brazil. The France-based R&D team has doubled in size in the last two years and boasts a healthy mix of engineers and physicists. At the intersection of physics, algorithmics, high-tech automation, backend and frontend software development, and high-precision mechanics, SCANTECH designs, builds, sells, installs, and maintains innovative measurement equipment used to monitor the quality of flat materials during production (e.g., metal, polymers, textiles, and laminated and coated composite materials). SCANTECH is the global leader in the extrusion industry, particularly in the measurement of battery separator films. SCANTECH was first to introduce low-energy X-ray transmission technology to industrial measurement systems and installs over 1,000 scanners annually around the world. Each subsidiary provides comprehensive customer support as well as installation and maintenance services locally ensuring product quality and customer satisfaction. With multiple assembly centers around the world, SCANTECH can supply the same high- quality products and a complete stock of spare parts equally to all domestic customers. Each center is in full accordance with the quality standards of SCANTECH’s production plant in France and strive to provide services. SCANTECH is now targeting new energy markets, such as the battery and fuel cell sectors. To achieve this challenging goal, SCANTECH developed a global solution for gigafactories in under a year that includes the measurement of electrode coating, press, and slitter lines.
